Join The Water Industry

The water industry offers a career path with competitive pay and excellent benefits. Many operational positions require technical skills that may be obtained through on-the-job training and industry-specific certifications. In addition to operational jobs, there are several other career opportunities that play critical roles in engineering, finance, public affairs, human resources, administration, and information technology.

The Water Authority is dedicated to creating an inclusive, respectful culture that encourages all employees to contribute to their fullest potential. We are committed to hiring and retaining a skilled, diverse, and innovative workforce and we are continually working to ensure our recruitment practices help us attract the most talented, diverse team. Some of these practices include:

  • Partnering with local colleges to offer educational programs for technical and management level careers.
  • Outreach programs to reach underrepresented groups in the water industry such as women in water programs, transitioning military, etc.
  • Offering virtual exams whenever possible to facilitate candidate participation.
  • Not using artificial intelligence to auto-screen applications and removing personal identifiable information (i.e. name and address) in the subject matter expert review process to avoid bias.
