Crossover I-15 Pipeline Project

Project Background

The San Diego County Water Authority is planning a critical pipeline project for approximately one mile under Interstate 15 along N. Centre City Parkway south of Deer Springs Road, which may affect the surrounding communities.

The project, called the Crossover Pipeline I-15 Bypass, is part of the Water Authority’s commitment to maintaining a safe and reliable water supply to support the San Diego regional economy and quality of life.

Potential Construction Impacts:

  • Vehicle traffic will be rerouted to safely accommodate construction activity.
  • Noise, dust, and construction traffic.
  • Limited night and weekend work for brief periods.

As the lead agency under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), the Water Authority has prepared and plans to adopt a Mitigated Negative Declaration (MND) for the project. To learn more and view the document, go to: sdcwa.org/projects-programs/programs/environmental/.

On December 14, 2022, the Water Authority held a virtual open house for the public to learn more about the project. Team members discussed project details and responded to questions. Click below to watch the virtual open house.
